My graduating class is trying to think of a present to get our program director. Any ideas?Um. Haha, well, I basically know nothing about them or your program, but here’s a fun photoset (sources in the captions)? If you want to get glamorous and are bold with your money, something architectural like that glass heart vase would be incredible. If not and the things made by companies don’t appeal, there’s a huge wealth of neat stuff on Etsy where purchases support independent artists. Something handmade is also thoughtful if your class has the time create something.
Hello!
I would like to thank you for your support in the way tumblr does best: with a giveaway!
Remember those two posters I made? I made prints of them for the lunchroom a while ago and have extras just for you. And who can deny free things?
How does this work?:
Closed!! Thank you for playing and congrats to our two winners!
It’s Friday!
Even the cells are happy about it.
Adenocarcinoma of the Lung.
Not really lab medicine, but still ultra cool. A team of scientists created the one-of-a-kind advertisements to promote director Steven Soderbergh’s film Contagion.
Using 35 strains of bacteria and fungi, a team of 25 microbiologists and immunologists tested different strains of bacteria to see which would work best at creating a message that would slowly grow into letters making up the film’s name. It should continue to grow until the message was illegible, much like an out of control disease.
Yet another lunchroom poster I made (sorry for the watermark).
One of the many posters I made for the lunch room a while back.
CleanerScience makes some of the cutest/prettiest soaps. I particularly love their tiny red cells.

How about some blood type inspired perfumes?
Based out of Italy, the company states that “BLOOD CONCEPT is a private celebration of the vivid and fascinating liquid that flows in our veins. Because blood is actually the river of life.” The fragrances, A, B, AB, and O are all unisex and all have a slight metallic note which is too appropriate for blood.
Transfusion is my favourite part of lab medicine and I am kind of deep into fashion so this is pretty much awesome. I am type O, but the B perfume sounds best to me: a unisex woody spicy composition with red apple and black cherry in the top, artemisia, pepper, pomegranate and black tea in the heart; patchouli, tick wood and metallic notes in the base.
Hello followers, both new and old! I was a little alarmed by the influx until I realized I had been pimped out by the lovely Microculture, who you should definitely be following if you are not already!
I baked you all some BAP cookies (by which I mean cream cheese sugar cookies with minty icing and white chocolate colonies) as thanks to all of you for dropping by and/or following :). I am the messiest icer ever, sorry.
